Beautiful Berries of Summer! This class teaches the Hot Water Bath method of Canning. We'll cover everything you'll need to know about simple canning equipment & food safety, then it's hands-on in the kitchen as we make 2 recipes to take home in mason jars:
-Small-batch Strawberry Jam with Meyer Lemon
-Strawberry Mint 'Shrub' - which is a refreshingly fresh drink base for cocktails & mocktails
Takeaway 1 jam & 1 Fruit Shrub and the confidence to DIY! Canning is a lifelong skill! Once you know how to "preserve" safely, you will take this time-honored tradition with you throughout the seasons, as you "put up" all manner of fruits and vegetables from your garden and/or local farmers' markets.
