join us for a Wakeman family tradition! holiday tree lighting 12.6.24

You’re invited to the Annual Wakeman Town Farm Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday, Dec. 6 from 4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m.

Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned tradition? The Wakeman Family started the tree lighting many moons ago, and we are keeping the cherished tradition alive for all to share! It’s a festive, fun and free event for the whole family! Enjoy free cookies, sweet treats and hot chocolate courtesy of The Porch & Sweet P Bakery, and warm up around our roaring bonfire, supervised by our friends at the Westport Fire Department. As is our tradition, we’re featuring a variety of local school musicians from Greens Farms and Saugatuck Elementary schools, plus a few members of the Staples High School Band, playing festive Christmas and Chanukkah favorites to help us get into the holiday spirit. Join us as First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker and Bill Constantino (a Wakeman family member) light up the Wakeman tree to kick off the season and keep a generations-old family tradition alive for the community!

Free and open to the public. This is an outdoor, family friendly event. Dress warmly.

LET’S GIVE BACK! The event is free, it offers three simple ways for you to give back to our neighbors in need during the holiday season. Choose one!

1: We are collecting pre-loved Legos as a part of Sustainable Westport effort, so please bring your Legos for the bin.

2: We are collecting unwrapped toys for the annual Al’s Angels’ Toy Drive, so bring a little something to brighten a child’s holiday.

3. HS Teens from the AWARE organization are raising money for women and teens in need though a bake sale, so pick up a treat to bring home!
