Join us in Tim’s Kitchen for a unique dessert experience and a fun way to spend time with friends and meet new people. Led by Jess Leventhal, you will learn all the tips and tricks to create a stunning cookie cake that’s almost too beautiful to eat!

During the decorating workshop, you'll decorate a cookie cake from start to finish. You'll learn how to mix frosting colors, and how to select and use the appropriate piping tips to achieve different designs and textures.

Jess will provide step-by-step instruction and everything you need, including professional tools, frosting, edible decorations, and more! 

By the end of the workshop, you'll have a delicious and beautifully adorned 2-layer mini cookie cake in the design pictured.

In our kids’ winter cooking classes we will bring the warmth of the kitchen alive, filling it with holiday spirit and delicious, comforting aromas perfect for the winter months. These recipes are ideal for embracing cozy seasonal flavors. 

Themes include Soups & Stews, using butternut squash and root veggies, Comfort Foods,  like mac and cheese and pot pie, Casserole Classics,  like baked ziti as well as sweet pies filled with apple and pumpkin.  Skills will include chopping, sautéing, simmering, baking, roux preparation and seasoning to taste.

Chef Robyn is a passionate culinary expert with over 20 years of experience in the kitchen.  She brings a warm, engaging teaching style and a knack for making cooking fun. Chef Robyn is dedicated to fostering a love for cooking in every child who steps into Tim’s Kitchen. 

New Session Kids' Inclusive Cooking Club starting 2.8.25

Designed for chefs of all abilities, this program offers a hands-on sensory-rich experience that encourages fine motor and gross motor skills, bilateral coordination, multi-sensory instruction, in a relaxed setting. Our kitchen provides a safe and welcoming environment where kids can be a part of a small group setting that will look to instill confidence in the kitchen at the child’s own pace.

Our staff will be trained to support neurodiverse learners, ensuring that each child’s individual needs are met. Activities are tailored to accommodate various sensory, social, and communication styles, fostering a sense of belonging and self-confidence.

This program promotes social interaction, emotional regulation, and physical activity, all while building confidence in the kitchen and around food.

This is NOT a drop off class, your chef will need one adult (18+) accompanying them to this class.

In our Thanksgiving Cooking Class for Kids we will prepare a mini feast with a Turkey Day theme.

This hands-on class will feature simple, fun Thanksgiving dishes while focusing on basic kitchen tools and techniques.  Kids will get a chance to mix, measure, assemble, and decorate. Kids will learn how to create classic holiday dishes with a modern twist, and then enjoy eating their creations!

 Our Warm and Toasty treats class will immerse young chefs in the cozy and colorful flavors of Autumn. From sweet treats to savory delights, each session will be filled with hands-on cooking activities that highlight the best of the season.

Themes include: Pumpkin-Themed Delights, like Pumpkin Muffins, incorporating fall spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg. Harvest Soups, using seasonal ingredients, like sweet potato and carrot, Mini Pot Pies, learning to create individual chicken or vegetable pot pies, Apple Pie Nachos, using WTF apples, are just a few examples!

We created tis after-school Monday cooking series especially for our younger chefs, grades K-2. In our Fall Minis sessions, Chef Kathleen, of Culinary Kids, is creating seasonal menus based on what bounty is available on the Farm and what is seasonally appealing. Each class generally incorporates both a Sweet and Savory item for kids to make and enjoy. This culinary experience offers so much more than just cooking and baking. We practice and discover the concepts of measuring, food science, using fine motor skills, learning about spices and new flavors, and most of all…where our food comes from.

As the seasons change and the air gets a bit cooler, we will be cooking up Comfort Foods.

September/October classes will be filled with garden bounty from the Farm..think apples, honey, and squashes, with themes like Back to School Super Snacks, Food For Fuel, Power Lunches, and nutritious and satisfying Fall Meals that are easy to prepare and enjoy. October will end with Spooky and Spectacular Halloween Fun.

November and December classes will have Heartwarming and Hearty Comfort Foods. On the menu: Pot Pies, Shepherds Pie, Soups, Hashes, Culinary Kids' famous Butternut Squash Mac-n-Cheese, Fall Quick Breads, and All Things Pumpkin—pies and breads, and cobblers, oh my!

Join us for a spooky Halloween-themed cooking class! Kids will create creepy, yet delicious, dishes that are perfect for a Halloween celebration. We will incorporate seasonal ingredients from the farm in a fun and familiar way.

Menu will include Fall Mac and Cheese, with sage from the Farm. Dessert includes Chocolate Monster Cupcakes, Frightful Frostings, and Spooky Homemade Candy Bar, oh my! We finish off with a Vampire punch with licorice straws.

You’re invited to the Annual Wakeman Town Farm Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration on Friday, Dec. 6 from 4:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m.

Who doesn’t love a good old-fashioned tradition? The Wakeman Family started the tree lighting many moons ago, and we are keeping the cherished tradition alive for all to share! It’s a festive, fun and free event for the whole family! Enjoy free cookies, sweet treats and hot chocolate courtesy of The Porch & Sweet P Bakery, and warm up around our roaring bonfire, supervised by our friends at the Westport Fire Department. As is our tradition, we’re featuring a variety of local school musicians from Greens Farms and Saugatuck Elementary schools, plus a few members of the Staples High School Band, playing festive Christmas and Chanukkah favorites to help us get into the holiday spirit. Join us as First Selectwoman Jennifer Tooker and Bill Constantino (a Wakeman family member) light up the Wakeman tree to kick off the season and keep a generations-old family tradition alive for the community! 

Free and open to the public. This is an outdoor, family friendly event. Dress warmly.

1: We are collecting pre-loved Legos as a part of Sustainable Westport effort, so please bring your Legos for the bin. 

2: We are collecting unwrapped toys for the annual Al’s Angels’ Toy Drive, so bring a little something to brighten a child’s holiday. 

3. HS Teens from the AWARE organization are raising money for women and teens in need though a bake sale, so pick up a treat to bring home!
